Team Leader

Program Description: Capitol Hall is one of Goddard Riverside’s five supportive housing residences. A newly renovated 202 single-room occupancy (SRO) building, Capitol Hall provides housing for men and women who are vulnerable to homelessness because of their age, income, or disability. Staff provides daily meals, case management, recreational activities, holiday celebrations, 24 hour/7 day per week front desk security and more, while keeping tenant privacy and independence paramount.

Essential Duties

  • Supervision of staff and Administrative Duties
  • Client service
  • Participate as Capitol Hall team member
  • Other duties as required
  • Supervise two direct service staff members and provide weekly supervision using evidence based practices
  • Review and approve documentation (including, but not limited to, progress notes, service plans, psychosocials, reports, etc.) and ensure it is completed by direct service staff in a timely manner and within established deadlines as per agency and funding sources standards
  • Participate in the intake/admission meetings of potential new tenants
  • Oversee the tenant work readiness program and payroll
  • Coordinate the care of the onsite medical team and serve as the liaison between the provider, tenant and case managers
  • Run monthly Outcome Measures Report on AWARDS database for tenant’s who utilize onsite medical team services
  • Carry a caseload of formerly homeless individuals and support them to remain in permanent housing
  • Create and distribute the monthly event calendars and flyers
  • Run recreational activities and groups both onsite and offsite
  • Collaborate with staff in other GRCC programs to coordinate client service
  • Attend staff meetings, case conferences, training programs and supervision meetings
  • Collaborate to maintain an active resource directory
  • Some schedule flexibility may be required due to the needs of the client and/or program.


  • Masters degree in Social Work required
  • At least two years supervisory experience required
  • Experience with homeless population preferred
  • Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Some walking and travel to escort clients to various appointments throughout the city and occasional visits to hospital emergency rooms.
  • Regular visits to client apartments are also required.

Work Environment

  • Social service office of a supportive housing building, occasional group work kitchen and basement.
